New box trailer project

So I have this old tent trailer frame sitting around the yard so I'm using the old Echo Beach film set to build a box on it to store film gear as I'm losing the last of my indoor stage.

First I painted the frame flat black. Then I screwed the old Echo Beach stage plywood to the frame with 1 1/4 " self taping screws

Making a film is not an easy task.  Finishing a film is next to impossible. Move forward never look back.

They say never work with animals, water and children. I always work with two of the three. I make time period no budget no crew. All things that add to the level of difficulty. However I never write what I don't know.

Work continues on the boat

I spent most of the weekend building new seats for the vintage boat we are going to use in Scouts vs Aliens. I made the wood frames first then I had to make a pattern for the  material.

Fixing the old boat

Cressy Scott and I worked on the boat today. We dryer out the hull and repaired the throttle controls for the motor. We also cut the new plywood for the floor.  I put a temp art handle on the wood so I could lift it out for all the adjusting that was needed to make it fit properly.

Boat repairs for Scouts vs Aliens film

Well I got my old boat out of storage today. It was behind the garage for 20 years.  We had to lift it up to get the trailer under it. Then pull it out to the driveway by hand.

The cover worked well to keep the boat clean on the inside.  I plaster some full in the carb and used the rip cord to turn it obver. It started on the second pull and ran for 15 seconds before running out of gas. Not bad for sitting for 20 years

Anyways we pulled it inside and started the floor repair. It's the reason I put it on storage.

New Drone

Well after a year of fundraising, scraping up cash and a small lone we finaly got the drone just in time.  We are using it for Scouts vs Aliens and it is an essential camera tool so the audiance sees the aliens POV. You can see the drone we purchased in this video.

Ditching dead projects

The world is full of positive yes people and they thrive in live then there are those that say no to everything and they get no where.  I'm a lets do it guy but sometime I can't achieve what u set out to do because of the no people but I feel good about at least having tried to get a project going. Hopefully soon I will meet some yes people and we will make a great film.

New for this fall

I really want to make 100 episodes of You Can't Do That on Yotube. There are some really big road blocks that need to be cleared. I need to rent a studio for a year. I need 25 very quick mineded actors and lots of help. Camera lighting props wardrobe editing and so on.  I'm guessing I would need to raise at least $50,000 to be able to pay rent heat hydro insurance props and so on. That's a impossible huge amount of money.

This Summers Epic Feature Film project is....

I am going to make a very large action adventure thriller this summer. Scouts vs Aliens. There will be a huge amount of effects in this film and an epic amount of things I have to build and props I need to find or build. The question now becomes do I tell every one all the behind the scenes stiff as it happens or wait until after the film is completed?

Personally I don't like to know anything about a film until I see it. I enjoy the film more that way. What are your thoughts? Please feel free to post a comment

Cathy Director was in class the other day and made a concept poster for the film that is in design almost spot on what I was thinking. We just need to add the actors ( the film has yet to be cast) and our original UFO design we are going to use in the film. I was going to post it here but I think it's best to wait until we have our spaceship designed.

Anyways I'm working on the script,a miniature model, casting, set designs and the very important fund raising required to make the film.  Thank you everyone for your support because truly with out your support the film projects would never be possible.
